This one felt a little jerky for me. It was still a good story, but I wasn't fully drawn into the romance aspect of it. Tally and Clay clearly have a past, but the way it stands between the two of them overwhelms what's happening between them in the present. I know that's part of the story (i.e., their finding a way to heal their relationship, particularly her psychological abuse wounds), but it was a little TOO much for me. I felt pulled out of the present story too often as they both (but especially Tally) dwelled in the past. The back story with the Psy Council, the Ghost, and development of the Protocol I continues to unfold in an unexpected way that holds my interest. I look forward to reading about our resident surfer dude-looking latent sentinel, Dorian.
