Catch of the Day - Kristan Higgins Good, but I just couldn't connect with the first person narrator, who was alternately annoyingly doormat/saint-like and annoyingly neurotic/overanalytical. Also, Malone is too much of a strong-but-silent type for the first person POV to work here in that, for the romance-factor and the "how does he feel about her" way, we were left totally blind. We really have almost no clue how he feels because we're so cemented into the first person POV and all of the (mis)interpretations that accompany that POV. I just couldn't really connect with either of the main characters, which is tough when this is ostensibly a romance. The story itself is good, fully-fleshed out, and very small-town Americana, reading more like chick-lit than straight romance.

Edit: Oh yeah, I also turned the page on the last chapter and felt like screaming "Where's the freaking epilogue??????"
